Aisling, S25, 1978,     HIN: NA      Home Port: Concord, TN

Owner: Doug LaVerne,    Email: external42@earthlink.net

Cruising Area: Tennessee River, Knoxville-Concord/Watts Bar areas, esp. c. Mile 612

Comments: Excellent. Scared the **** out of the established aux. series sailors our first full season by being in the running for first til falling back to second at the end of the series (1979). Friend Gordon, since moved away, our Secret Weapon/CT Yankee, still has fond memories of that boat (his credentials include crossing all four major oceans in sailboats and crewing on the fifth-place boat in the C25 Worlds recently). Took Aisling over from my parents when they could no longer afford fees and upkeep; $1000s invested now.

Mods: Stock really. OK, a 170 genny instead of the usual 15x. Projected: traveler, parts from Harken (simple 2:1, high-beam), multi-part outhaul rather than previous simple line to boom cleat. Recently bought non-Dacron, patented Tape Drive sails (main, 155) from Doyle Detroit, or rather, the then UK-Detroit. Haven t had them up yet ... !
